After a long and cold winter, the days are finally getting longer and the landscape is beginning to awaken from its long sleep. What better way to welcome Spring than an enchanting evening of fine Baroque chamber music paired with expertly prepared seasonal French cuisine and imported wine!!

On Saturday April 12 Wheatland Concert Series is sponsoring Professor Mark Janello and a baroque string quartet from the John’s Hopkins University Peabody Conservatory and Baltimore Symphony to perform selected sinfonias by Georg Philipp Telemann, Antonio Vivaldi, and Johann Sebastian Bach.   These composers are among the most iconic of the Baroque period and the sinfonias are among the most beautiful music for strings and harpsichord ever composed.

The chamber performance is paired with an exquisite seasonal French dinner prepared by Chef Erik.  Our menu for the night consists of an authentic Onion Soup Gratinée, like my French grandmother used to make with cognac, Coq au Vin Blanc, chicken and mixed vegetables in a white wine sauce, followed by a delectable Crème Brûlée for dessert. The dinner includes a selection of paired French wines.
