On Saturday, November 15 at 6:30 PM, the Barn Dance & Dinner promises a four-course, locally inspired autumn feast followed by vibrant Virginia Reels and English country dances, performed by the English Country Dance Society. No prior experience is required—lessons will be provided—and experienced dancers will guide the way. A Historic Evening of Dining & Dancing
Join us at Shiloh Manor Farm for Chef Erik’s inspired traditional autumn feast followed by a barn dance with the English Country Dance Society. No experience is necessary; experienced couples will help guide and lead the way.
The Menu
- Appetizer: Baked Virginia oysters & apple brandy glazed quail
- Salad: Farm-fresh greens & fall vegetables with walnut sherry vinaigrette (paired with an unoaked French Chardonnay)
- Main Course: Virginia ham & Loudoun County roast beef, served with mashed potatoes and fall succotash (paired with an Italian Chianti)
- Dessert: Mackintosh apple pie with homemade vanilla ice cream, also Apple Toddy and Eggnog!

The Virginia Reel, dating back to the 17th century, was a hallmark of holiday gatherings and a favorite among from 1830 to 1890. It is lively and fun for all — everyone gets a chance to be the lead couple.
